"Dogs"

Written in 2011

Dogs

In a cold alley way crumbling to dirt
The dark and wet air hosts long reflections
Rainy street lights beside rotten picket fences
Things appear much sharper in the cold
A smell and a sound stand alone as silhouettes in the air
The scent of resting rain and the cold wailing wind
Carry a nocturne of barking dogs
Throughout the oblivious night sky
